There have been some federal laws passed that restrict the right to Federal civil forfeiture, but there are still States that have it allowed.

I agree. It makes me a bit concerned for the future - how long will people tolerate such things until either they are completely overrun or violently rebel?

Well the rebelling had been happening more often over the past few years in little spots for various reasons. Occupy, Ferguson, etc. But yeah, it could get real bad in the coming years.
